International Day of Native Language at Vanadzor State University

An event devoted to the International Day of Native Language was held in the hall of Vanadzor State University. The event dedicated to the eternity of our language was initiated by the Chair of Armenian Language and Literature. The 4th-year students of the “Armenian language and literature” specialty started an event with the presentation dedicated to the origin and development of the Armenian language. The 1st-year students of the “Armenian language and literature” specialty recited poems about our native language, while the 3rd-year students of the same specialty staged a small performance, symbolizing different periods of native language development.

Throughout the event, one goal prevailed: to highlight the importance of native language. It is not a coincidence that the celebration of this event was combined with the 70th anniversary of Gurgen Khachatryan, Professor of the Chair of Armenian Language and Literature, Doctor of Philology.

During the event “Adelas” dance group and “Biayna” choir performed a wide variety of folk dances and songs.

In the end, the stage was given to Mariya Brutyan (Dean of the Faculty of Humanities), and Tereza Shahverdyan (Professor of the Chair of Armenian Language and Literature, Doctor of Philology) who congratulated G. Khachatryan and expressed their respect towards his professional activities.
