Laboratory Experiments at VSU with the Pupils of Vanadzor Basic School №19 after Raffi
Within the framework of the school-university relations, pupils of the 8th and 9th grades of Vanadzor Basic School №19 with Anush Bayramyan, Chemistry and Biology Teacher, took part in experiments at the Analytical Chemistry Laboratory of VSU.
The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the pupils’ theoretical knowledge via laboratory experiments. Angela Hovsepyan, lecturer at the Chair of Chemistry and Biology, carried out such laboratory experiments as the “Volcano Effect” and a “Chemical Clock (Clock Reaction)”. The pupils also saw the reactions of decomposition, exchange and substitution, got answers to a number of questions and expressed an interest in seeing a laboratory experiment of the Pharaoh’s Serpent demonstration.
The pupils were then given an overview of the specialties of the university’s current and distance learning systems for the purpose of their career orientation by Aida Iskandaryan, the coordinator of school-university relations. She also noted that similar meetings are made on a regular basis at the university and have been held for about ten years.
