Flash mob: Field trip dedicated to International Students’ Day
This year, the event dedicated to International Student Day was celebrated in a new format at Vanadzor State University. On November 17, students, accompanied by the rector of VSU Rustam Saakyan, the Head of the Chair of “Chemistry and Biology” Armine Ghazaryan and lecturers of the same chairs, made a field trip to the Vanadzor Botanical Garden. An Associate Professor of the Chair of “Chemistry and Biology”, Liliya Bayramyan, 2nd year master’s student in the specialty of “Biology” Karine Ghazaryan conducted an interesting excursion, presenting the history of the creation of the park, the rich vegetation, especially emphasizing the tree species brought from the northern hemisphere which have already adapted to the climatic conditions of Vanadzor.
The event culminated in a symbolic flash mob, when students produced the acronym VSU in a famous drone photo. This image will live on the glowing pages of the university’s history, encapsulating all the good vibes of the day.
At the initiative of the VSU Cultural Center, a celebratory event was also held, at the beginning of which Rustam Saakyan wholeheartedly congratulated students on International Students’ Day. Atmospheric dances and lovely guitar and duduk melodies complemented the gathering. There was also a tea ceremony, the goal of which was to have warm and cozy discussions over a steaming cup of tea.

The role of students in society is becoming more and more important every day. They are the force which implements changes and contributes to the sustainable development of our country. Nowadays a student has a clear understanding of his mission in society and is actively involved in both academic and social work.
