Visit of Literary Scholar, Genocide Researcher Ara Ketipian to the Chair of History of VSU
On November 4, Australian-Armenian researcher, historian on Genocide issues, Ara Ketipian, who has dedicated many years of his life to Genocide issues, opening and compiling archives, met with professors and lecturers of the Chair of History of Vanadzor State University. Head of the Chair of History, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Feliks Movsisyan noted the importance of Ara Ketipian’s visit to Vanadzor State University and highly appreciated his work in the field of Genocide studies.
Ara Ketipian presented his books, which contain tens of thousands of documents on the history of the Armenian Genocide, including diplomatic reports, eyewitness notes, memoirs and collective stories of Armenians who survived the Genocide. As a key source study served the publications of the American press from 1905-1921.
The scientist also conducted extensive research on the issues of the Greek and Assyrian Genocide, and he also has research on Armenian orphans.
The books written by Ara Ketipyan have replenished the series of professional books of the Chair of History and at the end of the meeting, Felix Movsisyan presented his book “Freemasonry among Armenians” to Ara Ketipian.
