Visit of Colleagues from Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, Germany, to Vanadzor State University

From March 20 to 24, Marina Metz and Elke Schimpf, partners from the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (Germany), visited the Vanadzor State University Foundation within the framework of the DAAD project.

The guests held meetings and discussions with the university’s Rector Rustam Saakyan, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs Varduhi Hovsepyan, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Lusine Kostandyan, and Head of Research, Innovation, and Cooperation Department Armenuhi Harutyunyan.

Marina Metz and Elke Schimpf also visited the VSU Library, Media Lab, SMART CAFFE, and several classrooms equipped with modern technology.

A meeting was then held with the participants of the upcoming summer school in Darmstadt. Marina Metz and Elke Schimpf spoke about the scientific summer school, the participation of students from partner universities, and the scientific, cultural, educational, and recreational aspects of the program. During the meeting, important organizational matters were discussed, after which the representatives of the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences gave a presentation about their institution.

The eventful day continued at the “Bazum” complex of the Vanadzor State University Foundation, where our partners toured the area and facilities of the complex in preparation for hosting the summer school planned for 2026.
