Study visit within the Erasmus+ CONNECT project at Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland

From June 13 to June 17, 2022 a study visit was organized at Lappeenranta University of Technology (Finland) within the Erasmus+ CBHE “Connecting Universities-Industry through Smart Entrepreneurial Cooperation and Competitive Intelligence of Students in Moldova, Georgia and Armenia” (CONNECT) project. Three representatives from the VSU, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr Hrayr Papoyan, the Head of the Chair of Economics, Law and Management, Dr Viktorya Haruyunyan, and the lecturer of the same chair, Mrs Arine Stepanyan took part in the training.

The training was organized by the Prof. Leonid Chechurin and the junior researcher Ms Anastasia Chakir in collaboration with the LUT university team. During the course the Finnish Culture and the Language, the entrepreneurial ecosystem, the Business Mill (Centre for assistance of businesses), the Finnish School system and the LUT University in general were introduced to the participants.   The University actively collaborates with kindergartens and schools and its main academic programs are directed to the three mains fields:

  • Clear energy and clean water,
  • Circular economy,
  • Sustainable business and entrepreneurship.

         The participants of the training had meetings and educational visits with local start-ups, a familiarization tour of Lappeenranta fortress and sand castle, visits to the Jamie Heinemann Center, and Lehmus Coffee, the best coffee shop in Finland, founded by LTH,  Lappeenranta Municipality and LUT entrepreneurs’ festival.

         The trained staff, having participated in the study visits of the European Universities, will later contribute to the activities of SMART CAFFE established within the Erasmus+ Connect project.
