Seminar “The Impact of Nutrition on Physiological Indicators and Health Status of Students”

On June 27, Associate Professor Armenuhi Harutyunyan, PhD in Biological Sciences, held a seminar at the Chair of Chemistry and Biology of Vanadzor State University on the topic “The Impact of Nutrition on the Physiological Indicators and Health Status of Students.”

A. Harutyunyan discussed one of the most important factors influencing overall health — the effect of a balanced nutrition on the human body and the consequences of dietary imbalances. She presented her research on the eating habits of VSU students, their dietary patterns, the impact of nutrition on their health indicators, and the optimal ratio of nutrients in a healthy diet.

As part of the seminar, she presented an analysis of a student survey, conducted through a questionnaire. The survey examined the daily frequency of meals, breakfast consumption rate, and frequency of intake of meat, dairy products, seafood, fast food, vegetables, and fruits. It also assessed the daily water intake of students, as well as health problems and diseases caused by dehydration.

A. Harutyunyan also introduced the next topic of her ongoing research: food additives, which are now widely used and present in many food products, discussing their potential health risks.
