Joint Event dedicated to Francophonie Days
On April 8, the Vanadzor Museum of Fine Arts hosted an event-exhibition dedicated to the days of Francophonie. VSU representatives of the Chairs of Sports and Arts, Foreign Languages and Literature attended the event.
The hall of the museum, decorated with the works of famous artists, was supplemented with the students’ paintings of the specialty of “Fine Art”. The “Biaina” Choir of VSU started an event with the national anthems of Armenia and France in recognition of the long-standing friendship between two countries. During the event Karine Yeritsyan, an Associate Professor at the Chair of Sports and Arts performed some of the famous French composer Debussy’s works. Under the leadership of Svetlana Arakelyan, lecturer at the Chair of Foreign Languages and Literature, the students of the “English Language and Literature” specialty presented interesting facts about France, French art, and the famous French-Armenian singer and lyricist Charles Aznavour.
Haykuhi Avagyan, Director of the Fine Arts Museum, welcomed the organizers and attendees of the event and emphasized the importance of such cooperation between the two institutions. Arman Barseghyan, Head of the Chair of Arts and Sports of VSU, and Sergey Harutyunyan, Professor at the same Chair, Conductor of the “Biaina” choir, also welcomed the initiative in their speeches.
