Faculty and Students of Vanadzor State University Receive Awards

On March 20, as part of the 26th Student Sports Games of the Republic of Armenia, an arm wrestling championship was held in the gymnasium of the Armenian State University of Economics, with around 90 students from 10 universities participating.

Vanadzor State University took an active part in the tournament.

Sargis Sargsyan, a second-year student majoring in “Physical Education and Sports Training,” won first place in the over-90 kg weight category in both right- and left-hand lifts.

Vardan Sargsyan, a fifth-year student in the same faculty’s part-time program, took first place in the left-hand lift and second place in the right-hand lift in the 90 kg weight category. Another student from the same year, Artak Abrahamyan, won the third place in the right-hand lift in the up-to-60 kg weight category.

The Vanadzor State University shooting team included: Karine Siradegyan, lecturer of the Chair of Mathematics and Informatics; Zaven Evoyan, Associate Professor of the Chair of Arts and Sports; Shushanik Mosinyan, senior methodologist and Mher Mkrtchyan, a faculty member of the same Chair. The team won the second place in the team standings and was awarded the “Lecturer’s Cup.” Additionally, Karine Siradegyan took first place in the women’s category, once again claiming the “Lecturer’s Cup.”
