Event dedicated to St. Sargis Day at “Vanadzor State University named after H. Tumanyan” Foundation
On February 14th, the atmosphere at “Vanadzor State University named after H. Tumanyan” Foundation, was filled with warmth and celebration. A significant event was organized in honor of St. Sargis Day, bringing together students, faculty, and the entire university community.
A symbolic and captivating performance, prepared by the University’s Cultural Center, was the highlight of the celebration. It was accompanied by beautiful musical numbers that created a festive atmosphere and inspired all those in attendance.
Following the performance, a touching moment unfolded as secret letters—confessions of love—were read aloud. These letters had been collected in a special box, where students had anonymously or openly shared their feelings in anticipation of St. Sargis Day. The Cultural Center had prepared these traditional love boxes, offering everyone the opportunity to express their emotions either anonymously or by name.
The festive atmosphere reached its peak in the university yard, where a traditional bonfire was lit to mark the celebration of Trndez becoming a symbol of unity and togetherness for all those present.
The event was attended by the University faculty and staff, as well as the rector of Vanadzor State University, Rustam Saakyan, who actively participated in the celebrations. All attendees enjoyed the event, and in the final moments of the celebration, they were treated to salted cookies—a small but delightful gesture that added a perfect touch to this unforgettable occasion.
