A Series of Lectures by Henry Matinyan at the University of Malaga
On May 13-18 Henry Matinyan, a lecturer at the Chair of History of Vanadzor State University, gave a course of lectures at the University of Malaga within the Erasmus+ project.
Lectures of 10 academic hours covered various topics of American history and politics of the 19th and 20th centuries: the creation of the two-party system (Republican and Democratic), Jacksonian Democracy, issues of slavery and equality between blacks and whites, deportation of Native Americans, slave rebellions and their consequences, Mexican-American war, Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal policies, etc.
The lectures were given to different groups of students from the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature of the University of Malaga within the framework of the subject of “History and Civilization of North America”.
