Ceremonial Event Dedicated to the 80th Anniversary of Professor Pargev Gevorgyan
On June 29, 2026, there was held a ceremonial event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Professor Pargev Gevorgyan of the Chair of Pedagogy and Psychology.
The celebration brought together the university administration, faculty members, students, colleagues, and distinguished guests to honor the professor’s remarkable life and professional achievements. The event served as a heartfelt expression of respect and gratitude to a scholar whose many years of distinguished teaching and academic service have made a significant contribution to the education and upbringing of numerous generations.
The video presenting the life and career of Professor Pargev Gevorgyan provided a concise overview of his professional journey, highlighting the major milestones of his academic and pedagogical work as well as his notable achievements.
Congratulatory and commemorative remarks were delivered by VSU Rector, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Armen Tsaturyan; Head of the Chair of Pedagogy and Psychology, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Lilit Baghdasaryan; Professor of the Chair of Armenian Language and Literature, Doctor of Philological Sciences Tereza Shahverdyan; Professor of the Chair of History, Doctor of Historical Sciences Amatuni Virabyan; Associate Professor of the Chair of History, Candidate of Historical Sciences and Chief Adviser to the Head of the Vanadzor Community, Arman Bernetsyan; as well as the professor’s daughter, Meri Gevorgyan.
On the occasion of his 80th birthday and in recognition of his outstanding contributions to science, Rector Armen Tsaturyan presented Professor Gevorgyan with the Gold Commemorative Medal of Vanadzor State University named after Hovhannes Tumanyan, an Honorary Certificate, and a special commemorative gift — “Selected Works of Hovhannes Tumanyan,” a memorial edition accompanied by a gilded sculptural ornament.
Professor P. Gevorgyan delivered words of gratitude and the event concluded with a cultural program.
