Training on “Creative Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills”

On July 1 and 4, 2025, a training session titled “Creative Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills” was held at Vanadzor State University for academic and administrative staff and students. The training was conducted by Marine Evoyan, a lecturer at the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature and a member of the Erasmus+ DeSIRe project, who shared the experience and insights she gained at LUT University in Finland.

The training was attended by 19 students and 25 lecturers and administrative staff members.

The aim of the training was to introduce and develop methods for recognizing and applying creative thinking and problem-solving skills. Specifically, the training provided psychological and systemic tools for creative thinking, including divergent and convergent thinking, brainstorming (such as the “Fishbone Diagram”), lateral thinking (Edward de Bono’s “Six Thinking Hats” method), vertical thinking (the “SCAMPER” method), and TRIZ (the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving).

These tools and methods contribute to the development and stimulation of creative thinking and help generate innovative and creative solutions to problems.

During the training, participants had the opportunity to apply the presented tools through group work activities and shared their impressions.
