This study examines structural and psychological aspects of communication among married couples, identifying factors that influence socio-psychological harmony. The article combines a theoretical literature review with an empirical study involving couples with 8-15 years of marital experience who had successfully overcome early-phase marital crises.
Particular attention was given to communication quality as a key determinant of relationship stability and harmony. Responses were analyzed using self-assessments and partner perceptions, revealing gender-specific differences. Men often underestimated the reliability of their communication and perceptual abilities, whereas women demonstrated higher perceptual awareness and emotional sensitivity, reflecting social and cultural role expectations.
The findings show that improving communication can help strengthen harmony in a marriage and make it easier for partners to deal with challenges together. These results can be useful for family counseling and support programs, focusing on practical ways to build better communication, emotional understanding, and long-term stability in relationships.
