Visit of VSU Staff Members to the University of Maribor, Slovenia
During the period from 18 to 22 May 2026, the University of Maribor, Slovenia, hosted an International Staff Training Week entitled “Creating Bridges through Mobility.” The representatives of Vanadzor State University named after Hovhannes Tumanyan were Lusik Vardanyan, Adviser to the Rector for Internationalization and Gohar Dokholyan, Head of the Center for Internationalization, Cooperation, Project Management, and Public Relations.
The program included professional meetings, experience-sharing discussions, and presentations dedicated to the development of international cooperation within the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme, the promotion of academic mobility, and contemporary challenges facing higher education.
On the first day, participants presented their universities. Gohar Dokholyan provided a concise overview of VSU’s educational and international activities, while Lusik Vardanyan introduced the objectives, key tasks, and achievements of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building project “Development of Soft Skills at Higher Education Institutions of Armenia and Georgia in Compliance with the 21st-Century Labour Market Requirements (DeSIRe)”, currently being implemented at VSU.
On 20 May, the participants attended the international conference entitled “Rethinking Student Mobility in Higher Education”, in which current trends in the reconceptualization of student mobility and the internationalization of higher education were discussed. The program also included visits to university units, cultural events, and working meetings with international partners.
Participation in the event will significantly contribute to the development of professional competencies, the expansion of international cooperation, and the study of advanced European practices in the field of higher education.
