Visit of Mariya Brutyan to Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași, Romania
From 25 to 29 May 2026, within the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme, Mariya Brutyan, PhD in History and Associate Professor at Vanadzor State University (VSU), visited Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași (Romania) for a teaching mobility. She delivered a series of lectures in the Faculty of History, and discussed the key issues in Armenia’s post-Soviet history, the process of state-building following independence, socio-political developments, and contemporary challenges.
Not only the students of the Faculty of History, but also the participants from various academic programmes across the University, who showed keen interest in Armenia’s history, culture, regional developments, and contemporary realities attended the lectures. The sessions were conducted in an interactive and engaging atmosphere, providing participants with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the most significant issues in Armenia’s modern history and to discuss topics of interest through an active question-and-answer exchange.
As part of the visit, working meetings were also held with representatives responsible for internationalization at the Faculty. The discussions focused on opportunities to expand cooperation between Vanadzor State University and Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași. Particular attention was given to promoting academic mobility for students and faculty members, organizing joint summer schools, and exploring prospects for the development of exchange programmes and other collaborative educational initiatives.
