Training on “Media and Digital Literacy”
On June 30 and July 2, 2025, a training session titled “Media and Digital Literacy” was held at Vanadzor State University named after H. Tumanyan for lecturers, staff, and students. The session was led by Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor, and member of the Erasmus+ DeSIRe project, Varduhi Hovsepyan, who shared the experience gained at LUT University in Finland.
A total of 30 students, 17 lecturers and administrative staff participated in the training.
The aim of the training was to enrich the knowledge and skills of students, lecturers, and staff in the field of media and digital literacy, as well as to explore the potential applications of artificial intelligence in the educational process.
During the training, the following current topics were discussed: definitions of media and digital literacy, types of media manipulation, visual storytelling through photography and video, the Photovoice method, and the use of artificial intelligence in teaching and learning processes.
The training was conducted in an interactive format and included group discussions, practical assignments, and the use of improvisational theatre to explore topics related to media.
The “Media and Digital Literacy Skills” training was a valuable initiative aimed at equipping participants with the necessary skills to navigate effectively in the digital age.
