The Event Dedicated to the Celebration of Barekendan at Vanadzor State University
On March 3, the courtyard of the «Vanadzor State University after O. Tumanyan» Foundation was filled with people. Students, faculty, and staff gathered to celebrate Barekendan, one of the ancient holidays of the Armenian people.
The name «Barekendan» translates from Armenian as «good life, joy of life». It is a day of joy and celebration, accompanied by traditional games, competitions, plays, dances, and, of course, abundant hospitality.
Students from Vanadzor State University and the college also participated in the celebration, preparing various traditional dishes. At the end of the event, each table was awarded in its respective category and received a certificate. The certificates were presented by Lusine Kostandyan, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Vanadzor State University.
The celebration concluded with a lively circle dance.
