The Event dedicated to Francophonie Day at Vanadzor State University
The series of events dedicated to the International Francophonie Day began at Vanadzor State University. The “Biaina” choir of the university performed the anthems of the Republic of Armenia and France, as well as the French song “Vois Syugh”.
Nelly Papanian, Assistant Professor at the Chair of Arts and Sports, presented the main essence of the event and spoke about French music, particularly impressionism. Anna Hovhannisyan, Associate Professor at the same chair, discussed the topic of French fine arts.
The event was accompanied by piano performances by Lamara Hajyan, Karine Yeritsyan, as well as musical performances by Karine Marikyan, Susanna Ghazaryan, Esther Gabrielyan.
Rustam Saakyan, Rector of the VSU, thanked the Chair of Arts and Sports for fostering a French culture at Vanadzor State University while mentioning the importance of cultural ties between the French and Armenian peoples.
The attendees of the event also participated in exhibition by students of the “Fine Art” specialty, inspired by the French spirit.
