Training Seminars on “Creative Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills”
On November 20 and 21, 2025, Marine Evoyan conducted training sessions dedicated to creative thinking and problem-solving skills within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme project “Development of Soft Skills Aligned with the Requirements of the 21st-Century Labor Market in Higher Education Institutions of Armenia and Georgia (DeSIRe)”. The trainings were attended by 20 students and 12 representatives of the academic and administrative staff. The aim of the training was to develop participants’ creative thinking and problem-solving abilities through the introduction of design-thinking-based methods and interactive tools.
Participants were engaged in ice-breaking discussions, the “Creative Connections” card game, group discussions, and team-based tasks aimed at fostering divergent thinking and encouraging the free expression of ideas. They also took part in practical design thinking tasks, during which they applied the Empathy Map, the “Crazy 8s” idea generation technique, and rapid prototyping methods to rethink and redesign certain academic and institutional processes. In addition, situational analyses and role-playing activities were conducted to model real-life university and professional contexts, including communication challenges, decision-making scenarios, and the complexities of teamwork. As a result of the trainings, participants enhanced their creative capacities and collaboration skills, while also discussing and developing innovative and creative approaches to problem-solving and exploring possibilities for their integration into learning, teaching, communication, and management practices.
Both training sessions created an engaging and motivating learning environment, significantly contributing to the strengthening soft skills, innovation, and collaboration within the university community.
