“Military Affairs and Culture” Held at the VSU Library
On January 30, 2026, an event titled “Military Affairs and Culture” was held at the library of Vanadzor State University named after H. Tumanyan, dedicated to the Day of the Armenian Army.
The purpose of the event was to present military art as a cultural phenomenon.
Among the attendees were the Rector of the University, Armen Tsaturyan; the Rector’s Advisor, Garegin Karhanyan; the Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs, Varduhi Hovsepyan; members of the academic staff; the Director of the Lori–Pambak Regional Museum, Armine Avdalyan; as well as teachers and senior students from Vanadzor secondary schools.
Speeches were delivered by Anna Sahakyan, a research fellow at the Lori–Pambak Regional Museum, and Erik Harutyunyan, President of the University Student Council and a third-year student majoring in History.
Rector Armen Tsaturyan emphasized the importance of organizing such events in the library, noting that they not only enliven library life but also contribute to the expansion of knowledge, the strengthening of national identity, and the formation of patriotic values among young people.
The head of the Library, Gohar Gaboyan stated:
“Within the framework of the event, literature, history, culture, military art, school and university, today’s student and our future student were brought together.”
Professor of the Chair of Armenian Language and Literature, Doctor of Philological Sciences Tereza Shahverdyan emphasized that events organized in the library play an important role in enriching scientific and cultural life and preserving national values.
