Media Literacy Course for VSU Students
Media literacy is one of the most necessary components of modern education today. Everyone should master this extremely important skill of using the Internet safely. For this purpose, 4th-year students of the Chair of Armenian Language and Literature Gharibyan Milena, Arakelyan Syuzanna, and 1st-year part-time student Hovhannisyan Meri held a course on media literacy and cybersecurity. The trainers introduced what media is and along with its role, the definition of media literacy, and how to be protected from cybercriminals. Course participants learned how to be more protected on the Internet, distinguish misinformation, analyze, and search for facts. The course also provided participants with practical knowledge. Through practical work, students learned to distinguish between reliable and disinformation-containing articles.
