Solemn Ceremony of Conferment and Diploma Awarding for Master’s Graduates of the 2024–2025 Academic Year of Vanadzor State University Named After Hovhannes Tumanyan at the Sanahin Monastic Complex
On July 16, in the seminary named after Grigor Magistros Pahlavuni at the Sanahin Monastic Complex, the solemn ceremony of conferment and diploma awarding for the master’s graduates of the 2024–2025 academic year of Vanadzor State University named after Hovhannes Tumanyan was held.
The event was attended by representatives of the university, local government, and clergy.
The ceremony began with the performance of spiritual hymns by the university choir “Biana”.
A blessing and address were delivered by Father Masis Arakelyan, abbot of the Sanahin Monastic Complex.
The Acting Rector of Vanadzor State University, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor R. Saakyan, delivered a warm congratulatory speech, expressing his heartfelt wishes to the graduates. He encouraged them to use the knowledge they have acquired and their future honorable efforts to contribute to the development of the nation and the prosperity of their homeland.
Naira Barikyan, Head of the Department of Education, Culture, and Sports of the Lori Regional Administration, also congratulated the graduates:
“I am confident that being present at a spiritually significant place for such an important occasion instills a deep sense of responsibility in each of you. Tomorrow, you will become the foundation of Armenia’s development. Let the solid education you have received be the cornerstone that illuminates your future. In today’s world, lifelong learning is key — so never stop learning. Continue to grow professionally and invest your knowledge and potential in the strengthening of our state.”
She also expressed gratitude to the university for giving the event a spiritual dimension and for its beautiful presentation.
Arman Bernetsyan, Chief Advisor to the Head of the Vanadzor Community, thanked the university’s leadership for organizing this initiative, holding the conferment ceremony in the sacred site of Sanahin, and congratulated the graduates:
“Armenian education, rooted in an Armenian university, is inseparable from our millennia-old educational heritage. Let this moment give you renewed strength and inspiration to dedicate your knowledge to the development of your community, your homeland, and your country.”
The ceremony of conferment and diploma awarding was conducted by Acting Rector R. Saakyan, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs L. Kostanyan, and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences H. Papoyan.
The event concluded with the formal oath-taking ceremony of the master’s graduates.
