“Charles Aznavour-100” Recitation Contest at Vanadzor State University
A recitation contest dedicated to the 100th birth anniversary of Charles Aznavour was held at Vanadzor State University within the framework of university-school relations. The goal of the contest was to identify talented and gifted pupils in order to stimulate their interest in literature and reading. The jury consisted of the chairman of the committee, an Associate Professor of the Chair of Armenian Language and Literature of VSU, Ph.D. Gayane Papyan, and members: Head of the Chair of Armenian Language and Literature, Ph.D., Associate Professor Hermine Baburyan, and the Lecturer of the same Chair, Ph.D., Elfik Zohrabyan.
65 students from 34 schools of the region participated in the recitation contest. They also performed some musical compositions by Charles Aznavour.
At the end of the event, the best reciters were selected. A special prize for the group performance was awarded to Tantushyan Lusine and Titanyan Susanna from Odzun Secondary School No. 1, Grigoryan Anna from Lernapat Secondary School, Martirosyan Samuel and Margaryan Meri from Vanadzor Primary School No. 3.
Certificates of appreciation were awarded to Kharatyan Vache from Stepanavan Primary School No. 2, Begjanyan Elen from Neghots Primary School, Apresyan Araksya from Odzun Secondary School No. 2, Mkrtchyan Gor from Vanadzor Primary School No. 8, Vardanyan Milena from Vanadzor State University Gymnasium, Margaryan Eva and Sargsyan Meri from Vanadzor Primary School No. 3, Aslanyan Susanna from Vanadzor Secondary School No. 24, Ohanyan Satenik from Vanadzor Primary School No. 2, Khachatryan Nona from Dsegh Secondary School, Kostandyan Elen from Vanadzor Primary School No. 30, Mkrtchyan Anna from Sverdlov Secondary School.
Emma Sosinyan from Vanadzor High School No. 11, Taron Petrosyan from Vanadzor Primary School No. 8, and Marieta Harutyunyan from Kurtan Secondary School took the third place.
Tamara Khachatryan from Katnajur Secondary School and Simonyan Khoren from Akori Secondary School took the second place in the competition.
The winner of the contest was Ashot Hayrapetyan from Stepanavan High School. He recited a fragment of the composition “Aznavour about Aznavour”.
Vanadzor State University congratulates the best participants of the contest and wishes them new victories.
