Summer School Participants Visit Vanadzor State University

        On June 23, as part of the summer school, Vanadzor State University after H. Tumanyan welcomed students from Batumi State University named after Shota Rustaveli.

Representatives of the partner universities met at the university’s Smart Caffe, where they were greeted by the Acting Rector of Vanadzor State University, Rustam Saakyan. In his speech, he mentioned the cooperation memorandum signed between Vanadzor and Batumi State Universities in March of this year, emphasizing that the summer school is being organized within the framework of that very agreement. In this regard, R. Saakyan expressed hope that cooperation between the universities will become long-term, creating new opportunities in the fields of education and science through staff and student exchange programs, joint conferences, and cultural events. He also thanked the Rector of Batumi State University, the academic staff, and the students for supporting and participating in the university’s initiative.

A welcoming speech was also delivered by Arman Bernetsyan, Advisor to the Head of the Vanadzor Community. He noted that the cities of Vanadzor and Batumi have close cooperation, and that the field of higher education is actively involved in this partnership. A. Bernetsyan expressed his gratitude towards the Batumi State University, represented by Rector Tite Aroshidze, and Vanadzor State University, represented by the Rector Rustam Saakyan for this initiative, wishing fruitful cooperation.

Professor Anzor Devadze from Batumi State University named after Shota Rustaveli also delivered a welcoming speech. He thanked the Vanadzor State University staff for their warm welcome and noted that staff and student exchange programs between the universities will now be implemented. He added that the next important meeting within the cooperation framework will take place in Batumi.

Following the speeches, Anahit Yeghiazaryan and Anri Bolkvadze gave presentations about the universities.

K. Hovsepyan, a lecturer at the Chair of Economics, Law, and Management, gave a presentation on “The Tourism Potential of the Lori Region.”

Afterwards, the summer school participants got acquainted with the university, learning about the activities of the library, media lab, and cultural center of Vanadzor State University.

The participants continued their eventful day with visits to the Vanadzor Community Administration and the Lori Regional Administration.
