Delegation from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland, Visits VSU

On 15 June, Vanadzor State University after H. Tumanyan (VSU) welcomed a delegation from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (Poland), comprising Professor Bogumiła Kaniewska, Rector; Professor Piotr Pawluć, Vice-Rector; and Professor Rafał Dymczyk, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities.

As part of the visit, the guests met with Armen Tsaturyan, Rector of VSU; Lusine Kostandyan, Vice-Rector; Lusik Vardanyan, Rector’s Adviser for Internationalization; the deans of the University’s faculties; heads of academic chairs; and heads of administrative units. A key milestone of the visit was the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between the two universities. The agreement provides a framework for expanding collaboration in education and research by promoting the academic mobility of faculty members, researchers, and students, implementing joint research projects, organizing academic conferences, and fostering the exchange of scholarly publications.

The discussions then continued at the Faculty of Humanities, where participants explored opportunities for implementing joint research projects and co-authoring scientific publications. All topics discussed were aimed at strengthening the University’s research environment and enhancing the effectiveness of its scholarly activities. The cultural programme introduced the Polish guests to Armenian national traditions. During an event organized by the VSU Culture Centre, the delegation witnessed a theatrical performance depicting traditional Armenian wedding customs, followed by a tasting of traditional Armenian desserts.

The visit concluded with the tour of the University: the delegation visited the Faculty of Natural Sciences, the S. Mergelyan Innovation Centre, and the University Library, where Gohar Gaboyan, Head of the Library, presented the university’s unique and valuable collections.
