Opportunities for Tourism Development in Vanadzor: An Interactive Lecture at the VSU Innovation Center with the Participation of an International Expert
On April 30, an interactive lecture featuring international expert Mike Kuyters was held at Vanadzor State University.
The meeting was organized within the framework of the memorandum of cooperation between the Vanadzor Municipality and Vanadzor State University. It was another initiative that brought together university faculty and students, representatives of the municipality’s departments, as well as an international tourism expert working at the Vanadzor Municipality within the framework of the “Experts for Municipal Partnerships Worldwide” program.
The lecture was attended by students of the “Service” specialty from the Faculty of Social Sciences, who had the opportunity not only to familiarize themselves with current trends in the field, but also to engage directly with the international expert, ask questions, and discuss topics of interest.
During the meeting, the potential for tourism development in the Vanadzor community was discussed, considering it as an important direction for community development. Particular attention was paid to the creation of databases of tourist sites and their subsequent mapping processes, which can contribute to the systematic development of the sector and increase its visibility.
Mike Kuyters also presented his professional experience in various countries, emphasizing the importance of the effective use of local potential, collaborative approaches, and sustainable development.
Meetings held in this format serve as an important platform for fostering university–community cooperation, exchanging professional experience, and enhancing the competencies of future specialists.
