Visit of Representatives of Vanadzor State University to the University of Maribor (Slovenia)
On 13–17 October 2025, within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme and inter-university cooperation, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities of Vanadzor State University, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Mariya Brutyan, and the Lawyer, PhD in Law, Associate Professor Kristine Ghazaryan, visited the University of Maribor (Slovenia) for administrative training and teaching purposes.
During the mobility period, the representatives of Vanadzor State University met with several staff members of the University of Maribor, including the Head of the International Relations Office, Uroš Klejn, and the Office Coordinator, Alenka Marušič. Together, they discussed opportunities for further cooperation and the implementation of new joint programmes. As noted by Mariya Brutyan, “The University of Maribor is ready to continue its cooperation with us within the framework of academic mobility programmes.”
As part of the meetings with the Dean of the Faculty of Law, specialists responsible for international programmes, Suzana Kralič and Koko Mariuš, as well as the faculty members of the Faculty of Arts and the Vice-Dean for Internationalisation, a professional exchange of experience was organised. The discussions focused on issues related to international cooperation, research activities, the proportion of specialised courses within academic curricula, the allocation of credits for internships, the selection of internship placements and their specific features, the organisation of research work, and several other topics.
During the visit, the representatives of Vanadzor State University also worked towards expanding the network of partner institutions of VSU.
Kristine Ghazaryan delivered eight hours of teaching at the Faculty of Law of the University of Maribor, presenting the following lectures:
• Introduction to the Labour Law of the Republic of Armenia
• Individual Labour Disputes and Procedures for their Resolution under the National Legislation of the Republic of Armenia
• Collective Labour Disputes and Procedures for their Resolution under the National Legislation of the Republic of Armenia
• Cases from National Judicial Practice
In addition, at the Faculty of Law, a discussion was held regarding the possibility of developing and implementing a separate academic course with the involvement of K. Ghazaryan.
During the visit, M. Brutyan and K. Ghazaryan toured various university buildings: including lecture rooms, the moot court room, the thesis room, administrative departments, and the project office. They also visited the Mirko Lišič Library of the Faculty of Law, where the Head Librarian, Natalija Orešek, and librarian Zejka Bogdanović presented the structure and specific features of the library system.
At the final meeting, representatives of the partner universities discussed prospects for future cooperation in the fields of teaching, training, student programmes, scientific research, and publications, and shared their mutual impressions of the visit and professional exchange.
