The author reflects on the problems and contradictions of ethnic socialization of modern adolescents, the effect of information environment on the process of social and moral development of children and youth, the formation of ethnocultural identity of young citizens, their mastery of the values and norms of traditional culture of the ethnic group. The author’s perspective involves the influence of various factors on the formation of ethnocultural identity of adolescents. The author pays special attention to the risks and contradictions of the formation of the ethnocultural identity of a teenager, the danger of the emergence of “confused identity” (E. Erickson), ways and means of neutralizing the negative impacts of the information environment. The author particularly emphasizes the need to intensify the social and moral education of adolescents, intergenerational dialogue, since its results directly influence the formation of the ethnocultural identity of the younger generation.
