This article reveals the originality of adjective’s coloratives from the functional and semantic aspects in the works of Alexander Serafimovich.

The article studies the coloratives of the nominative field “person”, which is straightly connected with the peculiarities of A. S. Serafimovich’s artistic style, the central themes of his works, as well as the pronounced humanistic orientation of his work, love for the common man, and faith in his spiritual powers. The study of color symbolism enables us to highlight significant features of the writer’s artistic language.

The perception of color is subtle and individual; it evokes various psychological responses, associations, and emotions. Therefore, each author’s individual artistic system includes different color terms, each of which has a specific meaning.
