The article examines the necessity of implementing modern mechanisms for assessing pupil progress in extracurricular study groups within general education institutions, with particular emphasis on multidimensional, rubric-based assessment. It notes that in group learning environments, assessment often remains formal, one-sided, and subjective, which can hinder the comprehensive development of pupils’ skills.

The study analyzes teachers’ perceptions, methodological preparedness, and practical limitations, identifying key challenges and needs. It presents rubric-based assessment systems, tools, and mechanisms that incorporate communicative, analytical, collaborative, and value-oriented components, allowing evaluation not only of final outcomes but of the entire learning process.

The article emphasizes the importance of teacher training and the development of practice-oriented tools to enhance educational quality. The proposed mechanisms are viewed as the foundation for a new culture of assessment, in which evaluation becomes a developmental and constructive process rather than solely a supervisory one, fostering pupil progress, engagement, and holistic skill development.
