Seminar “Green Economy” at Vanadzor State University

On November 20, the representatives of “BIOSOPHIA” Healthcare, Environment, and Agriculture Development Center” NGO held a seminar on the theme of “Green Economy”. The organization is implementing the project “Supporting the promotion of a green economy and constructive public dialogue in Armenia”. Within the framework of project the president of “BIOSOPHIA”, Gevorg Petrosyan conducted the seminar on “Green Economy”, the purpose of which was to introduce students global environmental problems existing in the world right now and the possible ways of their solution.

The main goal of the program is to contribute to the formation of a targeted green economy policy in Armenia, and its integration into national development programs by attracting industry experts on green transformation and resilient economic development, stimulating public dialogue, developing the knowledge and capacity of stakeholders, taking into account existing advanced local and international experience. At the same time, the project aims to show how green and nature-based solutions can help strengthen the competitiveness and resilience of a country’s economy while reducing pressure on natural ecosystems, and promoting social cohesion.
