The “Bazum” Center of Vanadzor State University again received Internally Displaced Citizens from the Republic of Artsakh

Forcibly displaced citizens of Artsakh (47 of our compatriots: 8 families) are staying in the “Bazum” center of Vanadzor State University for several days now. During the 44-day war in 2020, this place also served as a shelter for many families from Artsakh.

Tamara Barseghyan, the “Bazum” Center’s supply manager, says that everything has been done and is being done to make the visitors’ stay comfortable, to meet their basic needs, and to extend cordial hospitality.

A ramp has already been constructed to allow one of the visitors with musculoskeletal issues move freely. Additionally, a suitable room has been set aside for the educational purposes and entertaining games for children will soon be provided. The university also took care of providing professional and psychological support.

The Student Council of Vanadzor State University attracted volunteers to raise problems of the residents of the center and provide appropriate support: warm clothes, hygiene items, children’s products. Food packages are also provided by the municipality of Bazum.

On the initiative of Associate Professor of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology Seda Bezhanyan, second, third- and fourth-year students of the specialty “Social Pedagogy” visited our compatriots together with the head of the Chair and Professors.
