Recitation Contest dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of P. Sevak

This year, the traditional recitation contest was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the famous poet Paruyr Sevak. The event took place in the hall of Vanadzor State University on March 22. Aida Iskandaryan, coordinator-specialist of university-school relations, made the opening speech. The committee’s chairman was Gayane Malumyan, Candidate of Philological Sciences and an Associate Professor. Among the members of the committee were Hermine Baburyan, Candidate of Philological Sciences and an Associate Professor, Elfik Zohrabyan, Candidate of Philological Sciences.

Pupils from different parts of Lori Region, namely Alaverdi, Odzun, Chochkan, Akori, Debed, Dsegh, Gyulagarak, Vardablur, Stepanavan, Kurtan, Gargar, Spitak, Lernantsk, Darpas, Lernapat, Arjut, Margahovit participated in the contest.

At the end of the contest, the best reciters were selected. 14 pupils received certificates.

Anna Avagimyan from Darpas secondary school, Sofia Aghasaryan from Vanadzor “Evrika” school and Anahit Ramazyan from Vanadzor secondary school No. 24 took the third place.

Marieta Harutyunyan from Kurtan secondary school, Gor Mkrtchyan from Vanadzor primary school No. 8 and Susanna Aslanyan from Vanadzor secondary school No. 24 took the second place.

Nrane Balayan from Stepanavan High School was declared the winner of the contest.

The purpose of the contest was to identify gifted schoolchildren, stimulate their interest in literature and reading. Vanadzor State University congratulates the participants and winners of the contest, wishing them new achievements.
