VSU Students Aren Aslamazyan and David Yegoryan became the Winners of 2024 RA Boxing Championship among Adults

Two students from Vanadzor State University won the first places in different weight categories at the 2024 RA Boxing Championship among Adults and Youth held in Yerevan from January 19 to 25, 2024.

Aren Aslamazyan, a first-year student of the “Physical Education and Sports Training” specialty (part-time learning system) of the Faculty of Social Sciences, competed in the 51 kg weight category, and Davit Yegoryan, a second-year student of the same specialty’s full-time learning system, competed in the 54 kg weight category. By the way, it is noteworthy that Armen Papikyan, the trainer of Aren Aslamazyan, is also a student of Vanadzor State University.

According to Arman Barseghyan, Head of the Chair of Arts and Sports, this is a unique fact when our university has two champions from the national championship at the same time.

Vanadzor State University Rector Rustam Saakyan hosted the winning athletes and coaches on February 1, congratulating them on their achievements and wishing them success in the fields of study and sports.
