The Final of “Rector’s Cup” Annual Mini-football Tournament of 2023-2024

On April 16, the “Rector’s Cup” annual mini-football tournament (2023-2024) of the Vanadzor State University ended at the “Kentron” complex sports school named after Albert Azaryan. The following 6 teams were participating:

1. Physical Education and Sports Training 1,

2. Physical Education and Sports Training 2,

3. Faculty of Natural Sciences,

4. Faculty of Social Sciences,

5. VSU High School,

6. VSU College.

Taking into account the UEFA regulations, the team of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of VSU took the 3rd place, the team of the College of VSU took the 2nd place, and the “Physical Education and Sports Training-2” team of the Faculty of Social Sciences was declared the winner of the tournament.

Rustam Saakyan, the Rector of the University, Hermine Grigoryan, the Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Hrayr Papoyan the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, handed over certificates and medals to the winning teams. The athletes recognized as “Best Goalkeeper”, “Best Defender” and “Best Striker” were also awarded.

“Rector’s Cup” annual mini-football tournament will be continuous. The goal of the tournament was to increase physical activity among students, to instill interest in healthy lifestyle, ultimately to develop mini-football at Vanadzor State University, as a result of which a team will be formed from the best players, having the opportunity to participate at various inter-university tournaments.
