The session of VSU Academic Council was held on the 25th of June. The quorum was established. The members of VSU Academic Council attended the session in person or remotely. The agenda was approved unanimously with some changes.

Margarita Shahverdyan, Head of VSU Quality Assurance Center, delivered a report on the analysis of research findings of lecturers’ opinions on online teaching. While speaking about the organization and implementation of distance learning, M. Shahverdyan, Head of VSU Quality Assurance Center, also touched upon the issues of mastering online tools for distance learning and the availability of feedback, as well as a number of other issues. The age limit for the most active lecturers who participated in the survey went from 41 to 50 years. Summarizing the issues revealed by the focus group, M. Shahverdyan, Head of VSU Quality Assurance Center, came forth with numerous suggestions. Rustam Sahakyan, VSU Rector, mentioned that the University accepted and overcame the challenge of organizing distance learning rapidly. After discussing a number of issues concerning that topic and making observations on it, the analysis of research findings of lecturers’ opinions on online teaching was approved by the participants of the session.

The second issue on the agenda referred to the discussion and approval of curricula for Master’s Degree program in Chemistry, Mathematics and Informatics (with the qualification of a pedagogue). Susanna Tumanyan, Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs of VSU, mentioned that the Faculty Councils presented their conclusions on the educational programs. Taking into account the above-mentioned information on that issue, S. Tumanyan, Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs of VSU, suggested that the members of VSU Academic Council should approve the curricula for Master’s Degree program in Chemistry, Mathematics and Informatics. That issue was approved unanimously by the members of VSU Academic Council.

The issue of the tuition fees for full-time Master’s Degree, full-time and part-time Bachelor’s Degree and Integrated Continuous educational programs for the academic year 2020-2021 of “Vanadzor State University named after H. Toumanyan” Foundation was approved unanimously by the partakers of the session. The tuition fees have not changed.

After discussion, the issue of exemplary criteria for calculating the volume of the educational work of VSU academic staff was also approved unanimously by the members of VSU Academic Council. The timetables for allocating teaching time were provided to all the Chairs of the University.

The individual plan of educational and research work for the academic year 2019-2023 of Henri Matinyan, a part-time postgraduate student, and the dissertation topics of VSU applicants were approved unanimously by the participants of the session.

The issue that was added to the list of current issues on the agenda was related to the change of the legal address of VSU High School after Zorik Gevorgyan (from 36 Tigran Mets Street to 47 Grigor Lusavorich Street). That issue was also approved unanimously by the members of VSU Academic Council.
