The session of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of VSU was held on the second of July. Seventeen members of the Scientific Council participated in the session. The selection of the Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics and other current issues were on the agenda.

The session was conducted by Vardges Hovsepyan, Associate Professor of the Chair of Informatics and Applied Mathematics and the oldest member of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of VSU. The agenda of the session was approved unanimously.

Vardges Hovsepyan, Associate Professor of the Chair of Informatics and Applied Mathematics, introduced the selection procedure, then the nominations for the position of Dean in a written form, the excerpts of the sessions of the Chairs of Physics and Mathematics and the Chair of Informatics and Economic-Mathematical Methods and Modeling on the nomination for the position of Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, as well as the   excerpt of the session of Tender Committee, to the participants of the session.

V. Hovsepyan, Associate Professor of the Chair of Informatics and Applied Mathematics, stated that the candidacy of H. Grigoryan, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor and Candidate of Physics and Mathematics, was suggested and approved unanimously by the members of the Scientific Council, at the sessions of the Chair of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics.

Hermine Grigoryan, Associate Professor, Candidate of Physics and Mathematics, presented the concept, distinguishing four main strategic directions.

The Committee on Counting was formed, comprising three members. Then, they held a secret ballot. R. Kroyan, Chairman of the Committee on Counting, introduced the results of voting to the partakers of the session, according to which, out of seventeen members sixteen participated in the voting. Sixteen members of the Scientific Council voted in favor. As a result, Hermine Grigoryan, Associate Professor, Candidate of Physics and Mathematics, was chosen as the Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics. Vardges Hovsepyan, Associate Professor of the Chair of Informatics and Applied Mathematics and the oldest member of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of VSU, suggested that they should accept the results of the secret ballot and present them to the approval of the Scientific Council of the University.

Afterwards, the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of VSU approved the curriculum of the specialties “Radio Physics” and “Physics”, which were presented by the Chair of Physics.
