VSU representatives of ARMDOCT Project training in a Workshop at the Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University in France

On April 25-27, Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University in France hosted a series of training within the framework of the Erasmus+ ARMDOCT Project (Reforming Doctoral Education in Armenia in Line with Needs of Academia, Industry and Current EU Practices). The training was attended by more than 60 representatives (institutional leaders and researchers) of EU and RA partner universities, Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, and research institutes.

The opening speeches were delivered by Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University Vice-President for International Relations Manuel Jobert, Vice-President for Research Isabelle Delpla, Prof. Guillaume Rousset, coordinator of the ARMDOCT Project Local Coordinator, as well as Arevik Ohanyan, coordinator of the ARMDOCT program.

The workshop gave the participants an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the process of organizing doctoral education in France, the reforms of recent years, the innovative structures of doctoral programs, the features of their supervision and co-supervision, quality assurance mechanisms and other topics. During the workshop, participants explored a variety of topics, including the achievements of the Doctoral School of Management and Economics, as well as the experience of the Doctoral School of Law. The attendees also got acquainted with the European approach to educational programs, credit systems, control and joint control systems, internal and external quality assurance. Armenian representatives actively participated in group discussions on doctoral schools and programs.

Vanadzor State University was represented by the Rustam Sahakyan Rector of the University, Aren Santoyan, Program Coordinator, Varduhi Hovsepyan Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, Armenuhi Harutyunyan Head of Research, Innovation and Cooperation Department and Hermine Grigoryan Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences.
