Every year more than hundred pupil participated in recitation competition organized in the university. The competition was organized in different titles, in the framework of Armenian, Russian, foreign poetry, sometimes in the scope of prose.

On May, 2018 in Vanadzor State University named after H. Toumanyan was organized competition in the title of “Поэзии немеркнущее слово” among the 9th -12th grade pupils of Lori region. This competition was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Armenian great writer Hovhannes Tumanyan.  

The competitions were attended by 75 pupils of different schools of Lori region. By the decision of competition of jury 30 pupil were awarded diplomas, certificates and presents by university rector.

On May 30, the festive awarding ceremony was organized for the winners of recitation competition. The ceremony was attended by teachers, pupils, parents, members of competition committee. Committee presidents Gayane Malumyan, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of Literature Chair and Karine Arustamyan Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of Russian Language Chair welcomed the presents, congratulated the pupils and festively handed the awards.

The 10th grade pupil of secondary school of Dsegh village Harutyun Chatinyan received the first prize for the best performance of Hovhannes Tumanyan's works. He beautifully presented a part from Hovhannes Tumanyan’s “Gel” story. Mariam Yeghiazaryan the 10th grade pupil of secondary school of Lernapat village and Meri Nazaryan the 11th grade pupil of secondary school of Gargar village got the second prize. Monika Sukiasyan the 11th grade pupil of No 6 of Spitak city and Amalya Kirakosyan the 9th grade pupil of secondary school of Shahumyan village were awarded the 3rd prize.

Gevorg Ghulyan pupil of the 9th grade of No 1 Basic school of Vanadzor received the first prize for the best performance of “Sev Mard” by S. Yesenin. Milena Hakobyan the 11th grade pupil of No 11 high school of Vanadzor city and Eduard tsolakyan pupil of No 1 secondary school of Stepanavan city were awarded the second prize.  Alyona Biryokova a the 9th grade pupil of secondary school of Lermontov village and Diana Tumasyan the 8th grade pupil of No 4 basic school of Vanadzor city were awarded the third prize.

Diplomas, certificates have been awarded to pupils of secondary schools in the regions, including Lernapat, Gargar, Shahumyan, Achori, Dsegh, Arjut, Lermontovo, Agarak, Odzun.
